June in Canada - Part One

Our first trip to Canada this year happened mid-June.  Our trip up was pretty leisurely.  We stopped in Spencer, ID because we knew it was a mining town, and Hunter is a little obsessed with "finding jewels and gold" right now.  Spencer was a little piece of paradise for him.  Actually, we all got into it, and found some treasures to bring home.  We stopped in Helena and went swimming that night, and then traveled on to Canada in the morning.

The next few days in Canada were spent playing, shooting things, fishing, playing crib, and visiting with family.

James and Tranny riding in the back of Ross's pick-up wither their 22s.  This is a typical event in the Canadian country.

Did I forget to mention how gorgeous Canada is in the summer?

The above picture of Zayah and Hunter looks like it could be an illustration in an A.A. Milne book.  The caption would be something like:

"Zayah, we will be friends until forever, just you wait and see."

or

"Zayah, Promise me you'll never forget me because if I thought you would I'd never leave."

or

"Hunter, it is more fun to talk withsomeone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like, "What about lunch?"

The above picture also looks a little Christopher Robin-ish.  Maybe its caption would be:

"Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering."

Anywho. . . we also cracked open some geodes with Grandpa Ross and Zayah after our Canadian arrival.  All the children were amazed.

It was a lot of fun meeting Tranny's fiance, Cody.  He's a really nice guy, and seems perfect for Tran.  We spent the first night or two around the fire-pit roasting wieners and marshmallows, and getting to know our soon-to-be brother-in-law.  Good times.

Part two of our June 2014 Canada trip coming soon.
